BALR. 3 Ways To Rock Your Sweater This Autumn

11:42

You can't have enough sweaters. But you'll need at least two basics: the rollneck and the classic sweater. With these versatile pieces you can create various looks that’ll have you dressed for the most formal occasions to a casual Sunday brunch. Here’s how to do it.

Casual
The easiest look is just you and your sweater. It’s probably smart to wear a shirt underneath, but the best look if that one’s invisible. If you like your classic look to be a bit edgier, you can choose to leave your shirt out. We prefer a black-on-black (or grey-on-grey) if you choose to show some undershirt.

Classic
If you want to step it up a bit, layer your sweater with a shirt. Make sure your collar is tucked in under the neck of your sweater. You can choose to leave it out, but only with a V-neck. If you’re wearing the shirt with a tie, always tuck your collar in. You can’t go wrong with a white shirt, but if you’re more of the adventurous kind, don’t go crazy with colours or patterns. We advise to use patterns on the shirt, not on the sweater. Oh, and show some cuff, but not too much!
Formal
Add a blazer to the classic outfit for more formal occasions. The same rules apply here, but always tuck your shirt in your pants and choose a blazer in accordance to your shirt and sweater. Try to keep it simple, often a plain sweater and white dress shirt make for the best look. The look of this autumn and winter however, is the blazer with a rollneck sweater. You can go black-on-black, or combine a grey sweater with black jacket.
